THE ORIGINS OF THE APPLE - Kazakhstan

The project reflects the idea of resurrecting ancient-future knowledge. Kazakhstan is home to pristine nature, and its symbol – the Aport apple – is the product of a hybridization between the ancestor of all apple trees (Malus Sieversii) and a relatively new cultivar, carried out in the late 19th Century. Its revival would thus symbolize the restoration of the Republic’s traditions and the penetration of this “ancient” knowledge into modern life.

The ability to enjoy the taste and flavor of Aport apples stands for the ability to sense and feel the ancient world. According to experts, the revival of the Aport tree will require us to pay attention to numerous factors – in particular, this unique cultivar can thrive only in special ecological conditions. To recreate them, scientists can avail themselves of the results of the study carried out by Olga Kisseleva. In it, the author paid attention not only to the reconstruction of the “visible” nature, but also to its “invisible” components. This may turn out to be a more effective method for restoring the natural ecology.
